E-Touch™

E-Touch is the new concept using the modern technology of the electronic remote collar. E-touch

The E-Touch method is new. So new, in fact, that only a very limited number of skilled trainers have ever even heard of it. This method has been refined over the last several years to yield a new approach that is amazingly gentle, uses no force, and that works with virtually all dogs. So when I saw it in action, I was excited to offer this method because it is more reliable, yet more gentle, than other methods I have used or seen in the past.

The method works quickly, yet is calming. In a free demonstration, you’ll see your dog’s behavior change in front of your eyes. The interesting aspect is how HAPPY your dog’s attitude will be. You’ll watch him calm and change his behavior as he learns.

e-touchHow long does it take us to show your dog how to walk on a loose leash, for example? Between two and four minutes. How long does it take us to show you a sit stay? About a minute.

What will you see? You’ll see a wagging tail and a relaxed dog during the entire process. What won’t you see? You won’t see any force, you won’t see any choking, and you won’t hear a harsh word.

The E-Touch method will change your dog’s life for the better. Why do we GUARANTEE it for the lifetime of your dog? Because it works!

Here are a few things I have learned about dogs:

  • There are no conditions set on their affection for me
  • Dogs are the only creatures on earth that will love me more than themselves
  • I have learned more from them and I am a better person for it
  • They want to be near me regardless of my moods
  • They are happiest when I spend time with them
  • Pleasing me makes them happy

All too often, unruly dogs do not fully enjoy life because their families constantly become upset and frustrated with them. This is difficult for both family and dog. At OD&M, our goal is to improve the life of both dog and family.

So, what is required to make your dog happy? He will thrive when you give him leadership, discipline, exercise and affection. Making the family happy is a bit more complex.

Families typically want their dog to:

  • Come when called, every time, on or off leash.
  • Walk nicely on a loose leash without pulling
  • Sit until released
  • Down until released
  • Not to jump on people
  • Not to charge through doors
  • Not to dig in the garden
  • Not to bark and chew inappropriately
  • Not to climb on furniture you prefer they avoid
  • Not to sniff and eat off the table and counters.
  • Not to be wild and uncontrollable
  • Not to ignore you when you want their attention

To assist you with all of those requests, I use effective, gentle training to work with the dog’s instincts, not against them. We will achieve off leash reliability with distractions amazingly fast. I can teach the dog to happily walk on a loose leash, sit, down, stay and come all off leash…quickly and gently.

The question is how to do that in a reasonable timeframe using a gentle method with little or no force and not having to bribe the dog with food constantly.

The answer is E-Touch. Most people just don’t feel good yelling at their dogs or yanking on a choke collar. Moreover, doing so just turns the training process into a contest of willpower. Anyone who has ever lived with a dog knows they have an endless supply of willpower. When force is used, we have a tendency to lose our temper so we raise the level of force and real learning has stopped. One thing I can say for sure is aggression begets more aggression. During our training process, we gently transform your dog into a willing and happy “follower".

We also do not “food or clicker train”. These methods do work well for competition dogs that must perform routines under controlled conditions. We find them useless when trying to stop unwanted behaviors or the distractions in the real world. Clicking a clicker or offering a food treat simply will not stop your dog from chasing down a squirrel or going after another dog.

Our method is without force and involves no choke or pinch collars. It also involves no bribery with clickers or cookies. What we do is calming and effective.  Frankly, this must be seen to be believed. Call (440) 567-1082 for a free behavior consultation.
