The Scoot Goose Patrol Canada geese are destructive and are just an all round nuisance. Their numbers are actually increasing and many no longer migrate but become permanent constant pests. They overgraze lawns and recreational areas and each bird can leave 1-2 lbs of waste material per day. That is not even mentioning the health threat from all that feces and the debris left on sidewalks and parking areas.
Geese are tough, intelligent and almost impossible to frighten with artificial methods. In fact, they will not be fooled for long with such artificial tactics. Killing or injuring the birds is not an option because they are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and other Federal and State laws. The Scoot Goose Patrol is the best response to the problem! The skilled Border Collie is the most effective deterrent in use today. Canada Geese are prey for fox, coyote and other predatory animals. This causes Canada Geese to be extremely frightened sight of the approaching Border Collie. The geese mistakenly see the Border Collie as a natural predator because of their wolf-like stare (Eye) This dog breed is highly intelligent and possesses a natural instinct to herd. This herding instinct will drive the birds to take flight without any harm or mental stress.
Our dogs are trained not to harm or injure the geese. They love to simply chase and do not feel the need to capture or kill like other breeds. They are satisfied just to chase them off. Most geese will take to water if available. But this is a useless tactic with the Border collie. They will simply get in the water and will swim to continue the harassment. There they are assisted by our RC fleet. Our dogs are taught to move the geese only because at certain times the geese are unable to fly during molting season or if they have young. The Program Our Patrol Team will visit your property several times daily to harass the geese on land and water to encourage them to “Scoot “off your property. Depending on the size of the flock it could require us to use multiple dogs. With persistent harassment by the dogs the geese learn that your property is unsafe and will move on. From that point a regular maintenance program is needed to ensure new birds do not gather on your property. Call for a demonstration and consultation 440-567-1082. |
